Morrill Meadows Park Eagle Scout Project

Eagle Scout William Westcott Jr.

This project was to build 4 park benches in this park.  Benches were made from recycled plastic lumber and steel frames, with one of the benches to include a concert pad underneath. The project benefits the people who use the park and its facilities, like the picnic area, and the nature trail and by giving the people somewhere to sit on the trail.  Shane Gilbertson was the representative from the City of Kent Parks and Management.

The project concept was determined in February 2001.

The project was worked on between May and August 2001.

A total of 376 volunteers man hours where dedicated to this project.

The Kent Lions granted all the monetary requirements of this project, and also supplied volunteer help.

William had his Eagle Scout Court of Honor in October of 2001.

William was a member of Troop 407 & Troop 453 (which is sponsored by the Kent Lions)
