The Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight & Hearing helps blind and deaf children and adults in the Northwest regain their self-reliance, and it champions lifelong sight and hearing health. Founded in 1969, the foundation promotes these causes in partnership with Lions Clubs throughout Washington and Northern Idaho. The Northwest Lions Foundation assists members of our communities from infancy to their senior years through the following integrated programs:
The Northwest Lions Eye Bank (NLEB) is a non-profit, charitable leader in the fight against blindness through its commitment to eye tissue transplantation and support of medical research. Founded in 1969, the NLEB has to date provided over 20,000 corneas for sight-restoring transplants. It has also assisted countless researchers to develop new ophthalmic treatments and devices. The consistent excellence and efficiency of the NLEB have virtually eliminated scheduling difficulties for corneal surgeries in our region. The NLEB also offers hospital support services and family
support services, including an annual candlelit ceremony to honor donors in conjunction
with other Northwest donation organizations. The Kent Lions is one of the largest
supporters of the Foundation. Each year we donate over $2,000 to the Foundation and
also grant several "Fellowships" to honor some of our Lions members. Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight & Hearing 901 Boren
